In 2024, I had the opportunity to speak at the IT Charity Leaders Conference alongside my mentor, Zoe Amar, on the topic of managing crisis communications.
Once upon a time
I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling. From a young age, I was captivated by the way words could move people—how a single message could inspire, connect, and ignite change. That belief has shaped my journey, leading me to a career where communication isn’t just about what we say, but how we make people feel and what we empower them to do.
My professional path has taken me across industries and continents, working with mission-driven organizations to amplify their voices, engage audiences, and drive impact. Whether it’s leading global campaigns, shaping brand strategies, or building meaningful partnerships, I’ve seen firsthand how strategic communication can transform ideas into action.
One of the most rewarding moments of my career came during a crisis—when a well-crafted response didn’t just protect our organization but strengthened trust and deepened connections with supporters. It was a powerful reminder that communication isn’t just about visibility; it’s about authenticity, responsibility, and leadership.
Today, I continue to champion stories that matter, helping organizations find their voice, refine their message, and create lasting impact. Because when we tell the right story, we don’t just reach people—we move them.

Where it all began
I was born in Stalowa Wola, Poland—a city whose name translates to "Steel Will" in Polish. That sense of resilience has shaped my journey ever since. When I was six, my family moved to New York, and I started school knowing only one phrase in English: “I love you.” But once I learned to read, I never stopped—I became an avid bookworm, eager to explore the world through stories.
Growing up, I was surrounded by woods and nature, which instilled in me a deep love of green spaces that has stayed with me wherever I go. I majored in Global Studies, and minored in Writing and Political Science at Loyola University Maryland, where my passion for travel truly took off. Through study programs in Thailand, the Czech Republic, and India, I deepened my understanding of different cultures and perspectives.
After graduating, I followed family tradition and became an educator, teaching English in Thailand and Italy. My love of exploring new places eventually took me to Aspen, Colorado, where I worked in a five-star hotel for a season—an experience that was cut short by a serious health scare that left me in the hospital for three weeks. That closse call led me back to New York, where I settled in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, before taking the next big leap: a postgraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh.
In Scotland, I found my calling at the intersection of international development and storytelling. By day, I studied the complexities of global challenges; by night, I worked as a historical guide, bringing the city’s past to life. During this time, I was honored to be selected as a TEDx speaker, where I spoke about the importance of girls’ and women’s empowerment—a topic close to my heart. It was also at the event that I met my future husband, Nicholas.
After graduating, we moved to London, where we lived for seven years. There, I began working at Women for Women International, an organization dedicated to supporting women in 17 conflict-affected regions. My career in communications, fundraising and marketing has allowed me to amplify voices that deserve to be heard, shaping narratives that drive impact and change.
In pursuit of new opportunities and to be closer to nature, we later moved to Wheatley, a small village outside Oxford, and in January 2025, we relocated to Denmark with our dog, Freya —a new chapter in a life defined by movement, curiosity, and discovery.
